Ocala man allegedly abuses disabled woman inside hotel room

A 27-year-old Ocala man was arrested after allegedly abusing a disabled woman inside a hotel room.

On November 6, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office detective responded to an E Silver Springs Boulevard residence in Ocala in reference to a domestic disturbance.

A disabled female victim in a wheelchair told the detective that a verbal altercation had occurred between her and Charles Tamage Bingham.

The victim then told the detective about a previous unreported instance of abuse involving Bingham on September 15.

According to the victim, she was in a hotel room with Bingham and they were arguing about his infidelity. This made him upset, and she stated that he shoved her out of her wheelchair.

Bigham then allegedly picked her up off the floor and slammed her on the bed. She recalled being held to the bed until he eventually let go of her.

After this incident, Bingham left the hotel room. She did not contact law enforcement at the time, but she took timestamped photos of the injuries.

The detective viewed these photos and observed several red marks on her chest and a large scratch on her forearm that she stated was caused when she was slammed onto the bed.

On November 15 at around 12:30 p.m., Bingham was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail where he faces a felony charge for abuse of a disabled adult.

He is currently being held on $5,000 bond and has a court date scheduled on December 21 at 9 a.m., according to jail records.
