During the holiday season, SunTran will begin offering free bus fares on specified days.
Beginning on Saturday, November 27, all SunTran bus routes will be complimentary every Saturday through December 18.
The free fares will be in effect on November 27, December 4, December 11, and December 18.
Regular fares will resume on Monday, December 20.
In observance of Christmas and New Year’s Day, SunTran will have reduced hours from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 24 and Thursday, December 31.
SunTran will be closed on Christmas (Saturday, December 25) and New Year’s Day (Saturday, January 1).
Steven Neal, Transportation Manager at SunTran, said, “We would like to provide a little bit of economic relief during the holiday season, while also encouraging residents to experience our public transportation system.”
Last month, SunTran implemented new, redesigned bus routes that include expanded services, bus stops located on both sides of the road, easy onboarding for passengers with accessibility limitations, and new digital veils on the outside of the bus that automatically change with route information.
