Local senior community holding food, toy drives throughout southwest Ocala

A local senior community is collecting food and toy donations throughout southwest Ocala for the holidays.

The On Top of the World community 2021 Food Drive is underway until Friday, December 13, with the goal of collecting 10,000 pounds of non-perishable food.

The most needed items include canned vegetables, canned beans, peanut butter, jelly, boxed dry pasta, rice, cereal, oatmeal, spaghetti sauce, macaroni and cheese, canned fruit, canned soup, and canned meats.

Donations of hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, toilet paper toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, and feminine products are also appreciated.

On Top of the World is also supporting Toys for Tots, and donations of new, unwrapped toys are being accepted until Monday, December 6.

Food and toy donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

  • Master the Possibilities

  • Recreation Center, upstairs and downstairs (food donations only)
