Upcoming St. Johns River cruise for adults over 50, charter bus registration open

Registration is currently open for a charter bus trip that will take participants to a scenic and relaxing cruise next month.

On Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Ocala Recreation and Parks department is hosting a day trip for residents ages 50 and up.

A charter bus will pick up all attendees at the Eighth Avenue Adult Activity center (830 NE 8th Avenue in Ocala) and bring them to their destination at the St. Johns River.

Everyone will enjoy a climate-controlled paddleboat down the river for an up-close view of the surrounding wildlife.

Meals will be prepared fresh on board and there will also be plenty of live music and dancing.

Registration is required and there is a cost of $80 per person. Everyone who attends is strongly encouraged to wear a face covering.

On Thursday, March 17, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the city’s recreation and parks department is also hosting a day trip to Kissimmee to enjoy Al Capone’s Dinner and Show.

The interactive musical dinner show will feature action, laughter, music, and audience participation. Tickets for this event cost $62 per person.

For more information, or to register, visit the St. Johns River cruise or Al Capone Dinner and Show event websites.
