The Ocala Police Department is surprising local children with Christmas stockings full of goodies.
The OPD officers donated their holiday bonus checks this year and are using the funds to benefit members of the community.
In the week leading up to Thanksgiving, the officers purchased 50 Thanksgiving dinners for local families.
The officers then hand-delivered those meals to each family’s home.
With the remaining funds from those bonus checks, the officers purchased holiday goodies to stuff inside Christmas stockings.
Over the upcoming week, officers will be giving away those stockings to 125 children throughout Ocala.
