Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies partnered with Walmart to help make the holidays brighter for local children.
‘Shop with a Cop’ returned to the Walmart located at 2600 SW 19th Avenue Road in Ocala on Thursday, December 16. The deputies met with the children to help them with their holiday shopping.
Walmart allowed space for the families and deputies to meet in the Garden Center, and dedicated check-out lanes were opened for the event participants.
The children were given enough funds to purchase gifts for themselves and their family members.
The deputies accompanied the children throughout the store as they bought toys, clothes, games, and food.
Once the shopping was wrapped up, Walmart treated all the participants to dinner, and a full Christmas meal was also donated for the children to bring home to their families.
