Fort McCoy man arrested after stealing over $2,000 from employer

A 31-year-old Fort McCoy man was arrested after stealing over $2,000 from his employer.

On Thursday, December 9, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy received a call from a man who worked for P&S Road Service located at 5460 N U.S. Highway 441 in Ocala.

The employee stated that a check and receipt for a recent job was missing. According to the employee, another man who worked there, Jon Daniel Ralbovsky, had been assigned the job but never turned in any paperwork or payment.

The employee contacted Ralbovsky regarding the status of the check, and Ralbovsky stated that he accidentally cashed the $1,500 check in his own name.

Through a search of transaction records, the P&S Road Service employee identified multiple transactions for jobs completed by Ralbovsky where payment and proper paperwork were never received.

According to the MCSO report, those transactions include:

  • On Sunday, September 19, Ralbovsky pocketed $377.50 in cash from a customer for a completed job.
  • On Friday, October 15, Ralbovsky cashed a $295 check in his own name.
  • On Thursday, November 11, Ralbovsky pocketed $351.25 in cash from a customer for a completed job.
  • On Wednesday, November 24, Ralbovsky cashed a $1,575.06 check in his own name.

On Tuesday, the deputy interviewed Ralbovsky. When asked about the above transactions, he admitted to cashing the checks.

Ralbovsky stated that he started working for P&S Road Service in July or August, and prior to that he had owned his own business. He claimed that he was used to writing his own name on the checks and this is why he had accidentally cashed them.

The deputy asked why he did not immediately return the money to the business, and he stated that he was “trying to fix the problem himself.”

He told the deputy that all the paperwork and money from the completed jobs are kept in his work clipboard, and he claimed that one of his clipboards had gone missing for a few days. When he later found the clipboard, he stated he forgot to turn in the documents and money in question because he had “already moved on to the next thing.”

Ralbovsky was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail where he is currently being held on $12,000 bond. He is facing felony charges for grand theft of less than $5,000 and fraud.

A court date has not been scheduled yet, according to jail records.
