Ocala man sends threatening emails to former employer

A 25-year-old Ocala man was arrested after sending multiple threatening emails to his former employer.

On Monday, December 13, an Ocala Police Department officer responded to Custom Window Systems located at 1900 SW 44th Avenue in Ocala in response to written threats that were made against the company.

On Tuesday, December 7, a former employee, Chagorez Shawon Lamb, was unable to log into his employee portal at work.

Lamb sent an email from his personal email address to the company’s IT department at around 2 p.m. stating his account was locked. Ten minutes later, he received a reply from IT asking for more information regarding the issue.

At 2:23 p.m., he sent another email to IT that stated, “You (expletive) super late bye.” The IT department forwarded the email to the company’s Human Resources department, and HR met with Lamb on Thursday, December 9 due to the email containing profanity.

Earlier in the week, Lamb had given his two weeks’ notice, and HR informed him during the meeting that his resignation was being accepted effective immediately. He was then escorted off the premises.

On Monday, December 13 at 1:26 a.m., he sent another email from his personal email address to the company’s IT department. In that email, he stated, “(expletive) u lame (multiple expletives), (expletive) boys went and told and got me walked out wit yall lame sensitive (expletive).”

The company did not respond to the email, and Lamb sent a follow-up email a few minutes later that said, “Its people cussing out managers all types of (expletive) at CWS but yall worried bout a (expletive) email so whoever of u IT (expletive) that went n told I hope yall straight up die get killed type (expletive) n ya kids get raped in dey sleep n better while dey awake so they can see n feel at the same time, wit all dis being said, I’m done talkin so straight up (expletive) yall whole squad, yall can die early and I mean every word now run to CWS HR.”

The company did not respond to the second email. Lamb proceeded to send a third email at 3:33 a.m. that stated, “Been meaning to do this type (expletive) for awhile but it slipped my mind till now so yea and all that (expletive) I said prior ain’t no threat case yall (expletive) boys wanna call police but just know if yall do, I’ma come for the whole IT squad one by (expletive) one till ya gone for good, so yall better taking this (expletive) talking in stride and keep it pushin n be more careful wit future (expletive) in the upcoming times, you lame (expletive).”

On Tuesday, December 14, the officer met with Lamb at his residence. He stated that he was locked out of his work email address and IT did not respond until he called them, and by then it was too late.

Lamb initially denied having any further communication with the company, but he eventually admitted to sending the multiple threatening emails. He stated he was upset because they would not let him finish the remainder of his final week as per the resignation agreement.

Lamb was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail and was later released on $5,000 bond. He is facing a felony charge for making written threats.

A court date has not been scheduled yet, according to jail records.
