A 26-year-old Ocala man was arrested after allegedly threatening a female victim and repeatedly shoving her against a hallway wall during an altercation.

On Monday, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to an Ocala residence in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, the female victim told the deputy that she had gotten into an argument with Tyler Jay Leek on Sunday at around 10 p.m.

The victim stated that Leek was intoxicated and wanted the keys to a vehicle. When she refused, an argument ensued.

During the argument, she began to clean dog urine off the couch with a towel. She stated that Leek grabbed the towel out of her hands and used it as a whip to hit her in the back of the head.

Leek allegedly told her, “You make me want to kill you,” and he also allegedly threatened to make the victim’s child a “foster child.”

According to the victim, she walked to the hallway near the kitchen. Leek allegedly grabbed her upper arms with both hands and repeatedly shoved the back side of her body against the wall. The repeated shoves caused the back of her head to forcefully hit the wall numerous times.

When she was able to get separation from Leek, she stated that she hid under the bed until the morning since she was afraid of what he would do if she tried to leave the residence.

According to the MCSO report, the victim had a headache and had been throwing up since the physical encounter. Ocala Fire Rescue responded to check on the victim.

The deputy observed that the victim’s upper arms were pink in color with finger impressions visible on her left arm. A small purple bruise was also visible on her right arm.

A criminal background check on Leek revealed a prior guilty conviction on December 21, 2020 for battery in St. Johns County.

The background check also revealed an active non-expiring domestic violence injunction for protection that was served on August 31, 2021. According to the injunction, Leek was to have no form of contact with the victim.

Leek was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail. He is facing a felony charge for battery along with a misdemeanor charge for violating the injunction.

A court date has not been scheduled yet, according to jail records.
