Regina “Jean” Johnson-McLaughlin (Giardinelli) of Ocala was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Jean left this world on December 19, 2021, at the age of 87. Jean was born in 1934 in South Philadelphia, where she met her first husband, Robert (Bob) Johnson, who was stationed at the Naval shipyard. Together, they had two sons, Robert Jr. and Michael, and a daughter, Kimberlane. The family later moved to Rhode Island, where Jean found work as a bookkeeper with Sears and Roebuck. At Sears, Jean met many life-long friends, and shopped for many a Christmas gift from their famous “Wishbook.” Jean never could resist a bargain, often buying things in bulk, whether she needed them or not. Jean was an avid sports fan, card-player, former swimmer, golfer, and bowler. Quite simply, Jean was always, “on the go.” The Johnsons retired to Florida in 1988, and Jean remained in Ocala after losing Bob in 1994. Jean married her second husband, Jack McLaughlin, in 2005. Her oldest son, Robert Jr., preceded Jean in death in 2014. Jean leaves behind her husband, Jack, her son, Michael, and his wife Susan, and her daughter, Kimberlane, and her husband, David, all of Attleboro, MA. Jean also leaves behind seven grandsons, two great-granddaughters, her sister, Rosalie, and her husband, Rich Barnett, of Northampton, NJ, and her Sister-in-Law, Bette-Jean Raffield, of Belleview, FL, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at a later date, in Massachusetts.
