Dunnellon couple arrested after allegedly attacking victim inside home, stealing loaded shotgun

A Dunnellon couple was arrested after allegedly attacking a female victim inside her residence and stealing her loaded shotgun.

On Tuesday, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a local residence in reference to a burglary and assault.

Upon arrival, a female victim stated that 32-year-old Sara Rose Muenchausen and her husband, 33-year-old Kevin William Ogden, had just left the residence.

The victim stated that Muenchausen had arrived at her residence asking for help. Muenchausen allegedly told the victim that Ogden was “crazy,” and she feared what her husband would do.

The victim walked with Muenchausen to a nearby store, and shortly after returning to the residence, Ogden arrived. He began knocking on the back door.

Muenchausen allegedly went to the back door to open it, and the victim told her not to and added that Ogden was “going to kill them.”

The victim told Muenchausen to leave through the front door, and when the victim slid it open, Ogden allegedly kicked open the back door.

According to the victim, Ogden rushed after her, threw her to the floor inside the enclosed front porch, strangled her with both hands around her neck, and stated, “I’m gonna kill you.”

While the victim was on the floor, she heard Muenchausen tell her husband, “Don’t kill her.” The victim stated that she was unable to breathe.

The victim recalled being struck in the face several times by Ogden, and then he released her. Muenchausen re-entered the residence, and the victim watched her leave with Ogden through the back door.

Muenchausen was carrying the victim’s loaded shotgun which had been taken from a rear bedroom. The victim told the deputy that Muenchausen had been inside the residence previously and had knowledge of the shotgun’s location.

Muenchausen and Ogden both entered a vehicle and drove away.

The deputy spoke with the property’s owner and was provided a copy of video surveillance footage that showed Muenchausen exiting the residence with the shotgun, and Ogden followed behind her less than ten seconds later.

On Wednesday at around 11:30 a.m., Muenchausen and Ogden were both located, arrested, and transported to Marion County Jail.

Muenchausen is currently being held on $4,000 bond and is facing felony charges for grand theft of a firearm and cocaine possession.

Ogden is currently being held on $25,000 bond and is facing a felony charge for burglary with assault.

A court date has not been scheduled yet for Muenchausen or Ogden, according to jail records.
