A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a FedEx truck on State Road 528 near mile marker 27 in Orange County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report, a FedEx truck was traveling westbound on State Road 528 on Thursday at around 8 p.m.
A 46-year-old Orlando man was standing near a vehicle that was parked on the north shoulder of State Road 528.
As the FedEx truck approached, the man walked directly in front of the vehicle. The front of the truck struck the man, and he was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The truck’s driver, a 31-year-old Orlando man, and the truck’s passenger, a 40-year-old Ocala man, did not sustain any injuries.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
The names of those involved in the accident were not released, per FHP policy.
