Ocala spring baseball, t-ball season starting in January, registration open

Registration is currently open for the spring baseball and t-ball season at Ocala Rotary Sportsplex.

The spring season runs from January through May at the sportsplex located at 5220 SE Maricamp Road in Ocala.

Children ages 4 to 12 can participate in the following divisions:

  • T-Ball (ages 4 to 6): Teaches the basic fundamentals of baseball.
  • Rookies (ages 6 to 8): Includes machine pitching and instructional coaching.
  • Minors (ages 9 and 10): Includes child pitching and instructional coaching.
  • Majors (ages 11 and 12): Includes child pitching and instructional coaching.

A Babe Ruth baseball league is also offered for teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15.

All participants must be within their league age range by Sunday, May 1.

Evaluation of all participants, along with team drafts, will take place the week of January 17. Practices will be held on Monday, January 24 through Sunday, February 20, and the specific practice days and times for each team will be at the discretion of the head coach.

All games will be played between Monday, February 21 and Friday, April 8. Each team will typically play two games a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and possibly on Fridays.

Any make up games due to rain will be played on Wednesdays and Fridays.

There is a $100 fee for children ages 4 to 6, a $130 fee for children ages 6 to 12, and a $150 fee for participating teenagers (ages 13 to 15).

Adults can also sign up as a head coach (select ‘manager’ on the registration) or assistant coach (select ‘coach’ on the registration). Background checks and APS courses will be prompted at registration, and Babe Ruth coaching certifications must be on file.
