Three people were arrested after officers discovered a large quantity of drugs inside their vehicle during a traffic stop in Ocala.

On Saturday, December 4 at around 6:15 p.m., several Ocala Police Department officers observed a black Dodge Challenger traveling eastbound on State Road 40 near S Pine Avenue.

According to the OPD report, the vehicle’s window tint appeared to be darker than the legal limit and a traffic stop was conducted at the 300 block of S Pine Avenue.

The vehicle had three occupants: 25-year-old Georgia resident Angelique Adriana Tucker (driver), 26-year-old Georgia resident Assyria Ghiorghis Watts (front passenger), and 28-year-old Ocala resident Javorise La’Keith Watkins (rear passenger).

The officers smelled marijuana and requested that Tucker step outside so the vehicle could be searched. Tucker complied but stated that she did not want it to be searched.

Both passengers also exited the vehicle.

On the floorboard behind the driver’s seat, the officers located a black trash bag that contained two vacuum-sealed bags filled with marijuana along with a plastic bag that was filled with a white rock-like substance.

Another tight vacuum-sealed bag filled with a white substance was also discovered inside the vehicle.

The marijuana field-tested positive and weighed nearly 898 grams. The tightly sealed bag with the white substance field-tested positive for fentanyl and weighed 306 grams.

The white rock-like substance field-tested positive for MDPV, a form of amphetamine, and it weighed 223 grams.

The OPD report indicated that after an interview was conducted with all three individuals, it was determined that they all had knowledge of the drugs inside the vehicle.

Tucker, Watkins, and Watts were arrested, transported to Marion County Jail, and they are each being held on $202,000 bond. They are facing felony charges for fentanyl and amphetamine trafficking and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

A court date has been scheduled for Tucker, Watkins, and Watts on January 4 at 9 a.m., according to jail records.
