Jr. Magic Basketball League begins next week, registration still open

A fun recreational basketball league for children and young teenagers is coming to the E.D. Croskey Recreation Center next week.

The 2022 Jr. Magic Basketball League begins on Monday January 10 and runs through Friday, February 25 at the recreation center located at 1510 NW 4th Street in Ocala.

The league is for children and teenagers ages 5 to 14 and focuses on the fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship of basketball.

A week-long skills assessment kicks off the league and is followed by six weeks of competitive games.

Participants are broken up into age divisions (ages 5 to 7, 8 to 10, and 11 to 14), and they must be within their age division at the time of registration.

Each Jr. Magic participant will receive a jersey and a free ticket to a select Orlando Magic game.

The league will meet Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., though specific practice dates and times will be announced by the coaches.

Registration is currently open and there is a $55 fee for each participant.
