Marion County career fair heading to Forest Community Center this week

Marion County is hosting a career fair at Forest Community Center this week.

The hiring event is being held on Wednesday, January 19 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the community center located at 777 S Highway 314A in Ocklawaha.

There are more than 60 positions available across 18 departments, including Animal Services, Library, Environmental Services, Parks and Recreation, and more.

All full-time positions that work 35 hours or more each week are eligible for benefits that include retirement along with health, life, dental, vision, and long-term disability insurance.

According to the county, all employees have access to the Employee Wellness Center which offers fitness classes and workout machines that are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

An Employee Assistance Program provides free benefits such as counseling, legal assistance, and personal and professional development. Employees that are enrolled in one of the county’s health insurance plans also receive free medical visits, x-rays, and other services.
