Statlab Mobile COVID-19 testing site in Ocala now closed

Statlab Mobile has stopped its free drive-thru COVID-19 testing at the campus of the former Evergreen Elementary School located at 4000 W Anthony Road in Ocala.

According to The Florida Department of Health in Marion County, the site closure is due to a lack of demand for testing.

The Statlab Mobile testing site had opened in Ocala less than two weeks ago. The site offered PCR testing on Fridays through Mondays with results available within 24 to 48 hours. The company did not offer testing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays.

An official with Statlab Mobile stated that the mobile clinic would be prepared to serve Marion County again if demand for testing increases.

Free testing by CovidTestFL.Org, a COVID-19 mobile clinical testing service, will continue at the First Baptist Church of Ocala (2801 SE Maricamp Road). Testing at the church is available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays.

CovidTestFL.Org offers a diagnostic PCR COVID-19 test that provides results within three days via a text message or an email containing a link to results on a web portal. Expedited test results are also available for an additional fee.

Anyone seeking a test must enter the church parking lot entrance on SE 30th Avenue. To be tested, individuals need to bring a valid photo ID and should be prepared to stay in their vehicles while awaiting the test.

Minors under the age of 18 will only be tested if they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

In addition, testing can be done at private labs, physicians’ offices, pharmacies, and walk-in clinics throughout Marion County.
