First Friday Art Walk returns to downtown Ocala next week with Retro Sounds

The First Friday Art Walk returns to downtown Ocala next week with a celebration of the Motown era of the 1960’s.

The retro-inspired event is being held on Friday, March 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in and around Ocala’s Historic Downtown Square.

It will feature local artists selling their works throughout the downtown area, live music including a performance by tribute artists The Motowners, a thematic intermission performance by Marion County Center for the Arts Dance, and hands-on art activities and demonstrations for all ages provided by local non-profit and cultural organizations.

A vintage car exhibit by the Ocala Street Cruisers will also be displayed on the east side of the downtown square.

Each March, the First Friday Art Walk travels back to the 1960’s with Retro Sounds to pay homage to generations of past musical genres and performers. This event is free and open to the public, and all guests are encouraged to bring chairs.
