The City of Ocala is soliciting quotes for an experienced vendor to provide household roll-out garbage carts.
The request for quotes is currently posted through the City of Ocala’s Procurement and Contracting Office and runs through Monday, March 14 at 2 p.m.
According to the scope of work outlined in the request, the project entails providing roll-out garbage carts that consist of a body, lid, wheels, axle, and all necessary accessories for assembly. All cart bodies must be dark green and manufactured in the United States.
The plastic resin weight of a 95-gallon cart body and lid, excluding all components, must be a minimum of 24.1 pounds for the body and 4.2 pounds for the lid. For a 65-gallon cart body and lid, the minimum plastic resin weight must be a minimum of 21 pounds for the body and 4 pounds for the lid.
The interior surface of the cart must be smooth and free from crevices, recesses, projections, and other obstructions where material could become trapped inside the container. There must be no openings or holes in the container, and the wheels must sit outside of the perimeter of the cart.
Once a contract is awarded, the vendor will deliver or ship all garbage carts to Public Works Sanitation (2100 NE 30th Avenue, Building 200 in Ocala). All garbage carts will need to be fully assembled, except for the axles and wheels which will be assembled by the city. The scheduling of all deliveries will be coordinated with the city project manager.
The contract will be for an initial two-year term with an option for a one-year renewal.
