Communicator of the Year Award nominations being accepted through March 11

The Ocala Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association is seeking nominations for its annual Wilton F. Martin Communicator of the Year Awards.

The awards were established in 2005 and recognize individual and institutional strategic communications in Marion and Citrus counties. The award can be based on year-round consistent effort during the past 12 months, a singular example of outstanding communication, or both.

“The Communicator of the Year awards honor those who enhance community causes, make a measurable difference, advance the field of communications, and uphold FPRA’s ethical standards,” said Heather Danenhower, inaugural Individual Communicator of the Year recipient.

Nominees do not need to be members of FPRA and may include businesses, nonprofits, journalists, educators, community/civic leaders, and professionals from allied fields, including advertising and marketing.

The deadline to submit nominations is 5 p.m. on Friday, March 11, and candidates for the award cannot nominate themselves. Visit the FPRA Wilton F. Martin Communicator of the Year Awards webpage to submit a nomination.

Nominees and winners will be recognized at the Mid-Florida Image and Communicator of the Year Awards gala on Wednesday, April 13 at the Marion Theatre located at 50 S Magnolia Avenue in Ocala.
