Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training to celebrate grand opening this weekend

Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training (FAST) is preparing to celebrate the grand opening of its facility in southwest Ocala this weekend.

On Saturday, March 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the public is invited to check out the facility which is located on SW 80th Avenue in the new master-planned Calesa Township community.

During the free four-hour event, there will food trucks, an open swim in the facility’s outdoor 2021 Olympic Trials Warmup Myrtha Pool, family-friendly activities that include a bounce house, and access to an outdoor splash pad.

FAST is a swimming and training facility that includes an indoor 10-lane 50-meter/25-yard competition pool and a 7-lane 50-meter/25-yard/25-meter outdoor competition pool. The facility can accommodate up to 2,000 spectators, and there will also be a 2,475 square-foot dryland fitness center.

While the facility plans on becoming a training destination for top swimmers and swim teams throughout the country, FAST welcomes swimmers and athletes of all ages and abilities.

To locate the facility, enter through Calesa Township from SW 80th Avenue (directly across from the Stone Creek entrance) and follow the event signs to FAST.
