Verna Charles Wheeler (affectionately called Pookie) was born in Ocala, Florida on February 20, 1965, to the late Joe Charles Jr. and Claudette Jones Charles.
Verna accepted the Lord as her personal savior as a young adult and throughout her 57 years of life she loved talking about the goodness of the Lord.
Verna received her formal education in the public schools of Marion County, Florida, graduating from Vanguard High School with the Class of 1983.
On April 2, 2022, Verna returned from whence she descended.
Verna leaves to cherish her memories, her son: Bernard Wheeler, Jr. (hisfather-Bernard Wheeler Sr.); her two granddaughters Ameliah, and Avayah; siblings: Sheila Poole Diaz (Carlos), Yama Stevenson, Sylvester Stevenson, Marvin Charles (Tonya); aunts and uncles, and a host of nephews, nieces,cousins, and special friends.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 1:00 until 6:00PM at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, FL 34475.
A Memorial Service-Celebration of Life for Mrs. Verna C. Wheeler will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 2:00pm at St. Paul A.M.E., 718 NW 7th St , Ocala, FL 34475.
