Marion County Sheriff’s Office raises over $6,000 for Special Olympics

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office raised over $6,000 for the Special Olympics Florida this past week during its annual Tip-a-Cop event.

On Thursday, April 21, the participating MCSO deputies arrived at the LongHorn Steakhouse located at 307 SE 17th Street in Ocala, and they served as celebrity waiters from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

All funds that were raised during the event will benefit the Special Olympics Florida, a nonprofit organization that provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, at no cost to the athlete or their caregiver.

The sheriff’s office shared multiple pictures from the event.
