According to Marion County Public Schools, the Golden Apple Horse will move each year to the campus of the county’s latest Teacher of the Year. This move will always fall on the last Friday of April to tie into Teacher Appreciation Week during the following week.

Bender will be in attendance at this week’s dedication ceremony along with students and school administrators. There will also be speakers from the Marion County School Board, school district, and city leaders from Ocala, Belleview, and Dunnellon.

The ceremony will be held outside of West Port High School’s main office. The event is open to the public and light refreshments will be provided.
