Ocala Recreation and Parks Department hosting DIY art classes for ages 50 and up

The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department will be hosting a series of DIY art classes for residents who are over the age of 50.

The Rejuvenate with the Arts program will take place on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, beginning on June 14 through December 27.

Each class will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Eighth Avenue Adult Activity Center, which is located at 830 NE 8th Avenue. Below is a list of the upcoming classes and their featured activities:

  • Tuesday, June 14: DIY stenciled summer tote.
  • Tuesday, June 28: Framed burlap and button flag.
  • Tuesday, July 12: Farmhouse American flag wreath.
  • Tuesday, July 26: Canvas watermelon button craft.
  • Tuesday, August 9: DIY cutting board message board.
  • Tuesday, August 23: Mod podge photo coaster (bring three 4×6 photos).
  • Tuesday, September 13: DIY owl wind chime.
  • Tuesday, September 27: Fall bead wreath.
  • Tuesday, October 11: Halloween candle holder.
  • Tuesday, October 25: Painted wood sliced pumpkins.
  • Tuesday, November 8: Thanksgiving centerpiece.
  • Tuesday, November 22: DIY flowerpot Christmas tree.
  • Tuesday, December 13: Christmas wreath.
  • Tuesday, December 27: DIY dollar tree tiered tray.

There is a $5 cost, per class, to participate.
