Eleanor June Hostetler Hargrove

Eleanor June Hostetler Hargrove, 91, born June 15, 1930 in Shelbyville, Illinois to Levi Edward Hostetler and Phoebe Sarah Eigsti Hostetler, passed away May 14, 2022 in Ocala, Marion County, Florida.

Eleanor was baptized in the Amish Mennonite Church and remained a faithful Christian throughout her life. She was fiercely independent, self-sufficient, and well-loved by all who knew her. Eleanor treasured her family, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed painting and genealogy.

She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband of 57 years, Clayton Hargrove who died on September 23, 2011; and her sister, Hester Guziec.

Eleanor is survived by children, Dudley Hargrove (Pamela), Clifton Hargrove, Jackie Pugh (Thomas); grandchildren, Emily Rosenswieg (Adam), Dustin Hargrove, and Caitlin Hargrove; step-grandchildren, Rachel Guzzone (Brandon), Jordan Tedio (Nic), Nathan Pugh (Ashley); great-grandson Lucas Hargrove; and her sister, Rosemary Riley. She will be greatly missed by many friends and her family.

A graveside service will be held 10AM, Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens, 5050 SW 20th Street, Ocala, Florida 34474, with Chaplain John Downing officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations in Eleanor’s memory be made to The Salvation Army, Hospice of Marion County, or the nonprofit organization of your choice.
