MCPS seeking community’s help to name new Early Learning Academy

Marion County Public Schools is seeking input from the community to help name a new Early Learning Academy that will be opening in Ocala for the 2022-2023 school year.

To help with choosing a name for this school, MCPS is inviting the public to provide input at any of the following sessions:

  • Wednesday, May 25 at 6 p.m. – Engage MCPS virtual session (click here to sign up).
  • Tuesday, May 31 at 9:30 a.m. – Marion Technical Institute Auditorium (1614 E Fort King Street in Ocala).
  • Wednesday, June 1 at 6 p.m. – Early Learning Coalition (2300 SW 17th Road in Ocala).

Anyone who is unable to attend these sessions can provide their naming suggestions by clicking here.

The currently unnamed school, which is located at the former site of Evergreen Elementary School (4000 W Anthony Road), will focus on literacy, music education, and social-emotional learning to help give its students a strong foundation in their early school years.

The school is only accepting Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students for the upcoming school year, but the school plans on expanding by adding first graders for the 2023-2024 school year and second graders for the 2024-2025 school year.
