Muriel Helen Thompson

Muriel Helen Thompson (Debbie) was born in a Lutheran teacherage in Haven, Kansas on December 1, 1929 to Christian F. and Erna (Loewe) Daberkow and went home to Jesus on May 18, 2022.

After High School graduation, Muriel attended nurses training at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, where she was given the nickname, Dobbie, which morphed into Debbie. She came to Cleveland, where she met Norman, whom she married in 1955. Debbie retired from nursing to raise her family, and then learned bookkeeping and worked at Buckeye Church Supplies for 18 years. She was active in the LWML for 60 years at the local, zone and district levels, and also taught Sunday School and Bible classes for many years.

Debbie is survived by her daughter Sally Hennessey (Patrick), son Philip (Elizabeth) and granddaughter Yolanda Conde (Gabriel), great-grandsons David, Gabriel and Xavier and great great grandchildren Gabriel Jr. and Reana. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, her parents and her brother, Bill.

Debbie and Norm relocated to Florida in 1999 and loved living in On Top of the World. Memorials may be given to Our Redeemer Lutheran, Ocala, to Trinity Lutheran, Summerfield, or to the LWML.
