The Marion County Parks and Recreation Department has announced that several sports fields will be closing for seasonal maintenance.
Below is a list of the fields that will be affected by the closures:
- Softball fields 1 and 2 will be closed at Shocker Park (2371 SE 44th Court in Ocala) from May 30 through July 30.
- The football field will be closed at Brick City Adventure Park (1211 SE 22nd Road in Ocala) from June 1 through August 14.
- Softball fields 8-11 will be closed at Belleview Sportsplex (6501 SE 107th Street in Belleview) from July 1 through September 4.
The routine maintenance and resting of the sod will help ensure peak field conditions while enhancing durability for the upcoming seasons, according to the Marion County Parks and Recreation Department.
