Dunnellon, Florida – Curtis B. Bowen, 84 years old, passed away Monday May 9th, 2022 following a long illness.

He was born and raised in the Kansas City, MO area. His parents, Curtis Bowen Sr. and Ruby Christeson Bowen preceded him in death as well as did his son, Ted Bowen and daughter, Kerry Bowen.

Curtis and his wife, Joan, were married 56 years and lived in Rainbow Springs Country Club, Dunnellon, FL. They moved to Florida from Osage Beach, MO., Lake of the Ozarks.
Curtis and Joan had 5 children, 4 adopted. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joan; his son, Kevin Sr., Orlando, FL; his grandsons, Kevin Jr. Bowen (Melissa), and their sons, Graham and Sawyer, Kyle Bowen (Erin), and their son, Monty, all of St Louis, MO; Curtis leaves his granddaughters, Michaela Jones (Blake), Jackson, Mississippi, Keridan Jumping Eagle Brown, Albuquerque, N. Mexico; his grandsons, Jacob and Kieran Bryant, Ohio; also, his sister, Marsha Bliven (Jack), Crystal River, FL; and his niece, Selena Petty, Homosassa, FL.

Curtis accomplished many goals in his life: He was President of his Senior Class in High School; He graduated from the University of Kansas; Served his country in the US Army and enjoyed being stationed in Paris; He owned several successful businesses and was a Rotary Club President. He owned and flew his own airplane and taught many students to fly. He loved Jazz music and was a sly tease.

The 2 pups that he adopted in December, Hank and Wally, continue to hunt for him.

A Memorial celebration is being planned for Fall in Dunnellon at the Residents beach on the Rainbow River. Internment in Kansas City, MO.
