Marion County hosting several career fairs in June

Marion County will be hosting two career fairs in June and local job seekers are invited.

The career fairs will help Marion County fill numerous open positions in departments across the county, including Animal Services, Library, Environmental Services, Parks & Recreation, and more.

The first job fair will be held on Wednesday, June 1, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Belleview Public Library (13145 SE Highway 484 in Belleview).

On Tuesday, June 14, Marion County Public Library headquarters (2720 E Silver Springs Boulevard in Ocala) will be the site of the second job fair from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

All full-time positions working 35 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits, including health, life, dental, vision, and long-term disability insurance. Full-time employees can also participate in the Florida Retirement System.

Marion County has currently held four career fairs this year. More than 300 people attended the fairs, and the county received many applications for open positions as well as for volunteer opportunities. The county also conducted many on-the-spot interviews.

“We were very happy with the number of job seekers that came to our career fair and cannot wait to see how many come out this time. We are looking for talented people to join our Marion County family,” said Marion County Talent Manager Kerry Blood.

Several county departments will attend the two upcoming career fairs, and there will be on-the-spot interviews and computers available for attendees to use to fill out applications. The county will also have Human Resources volunteers on hand to talk about volunteering opportunities.
