Fort King hosting free class on summer vegetable gardens

The ‘Classroom in the Garden’ series is returning to Fort King National Historic Landmark next weekend to highlight summer vegetables that grow well in Florida.

The gardening class will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 11 at Fort King National Historic Landmark, which is located at 3925 E Fort King Street in Ocala.

During the class, participants will learn how to make their own vegetable gardens. Each participant will be shown common gardening mistakes while learning about strong summer planting options for the region and the keys to a successful garden.

There is no cost to attend the class, and it is open to the public.
