Marion County Veterans Services will be traveling to Reddick this weekend for a free event that will give an overview of benefits that veterans have earned through their service to the United States of America.
The Veterans Benefits Briefing will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 11 at the Reddick Public Library, which is located at 15150 NW Gainesville Road.
In addition to Marion County Veterans Services, the College of Central Florida and Marion County Community Services will also be participating in the event to help veterans and their families understand the process of receiving benefits and helping claim the assistance that they have earned.
Jeffery Askew, Director of Marion County Veterans Services, said, “We are proud to provide our community with an avenue that helps veterans and their spouses understand the benefits that he or she has earned through their service to our country.”
During this weekend’s informative event, veterans will have the opportunity to learn about different topics that include:
- Disability compensation/appeals and widows’ pension.
- Military records.
- Death pension, dependency, and indemnity compensation.
- Healthcare assistance.
- G.I. Bill benefits.
- Home-buying purchase assistance.
- Home rehabilitation and mobility ramps.
“Veterans will have time to sit down with us and learn exactly how to receive these earned benefits, with our staff there to help them every step of the way,” said Askew.
