The Ocala Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in northwest Ocala on Friday afternoon.
Shortly before 1 p.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of NW 3rd Street due to reports of a shooting. Once the officers arrived on scene, they discovered two male victims who had sustained gunshot wounds.
The first victim had a single gunshot wound to his leg, and he is expected to survive. The second victim sustained a gunshot wound to his chest.
Both victims were trauma-alerted to a local hospital. Sadly, the second victim succumbed to his injury at the hospital.
