Train collides with semi-truck in Marion County, no serious injuries reported

No serious injuries were reported after a train and semi-truck collided in Marion County on Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. on County Road 318, just east of NE 24th Avenue in Citra, according to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report.

Marion County Fire Rescue units arrived on scene and observed a semi-truck with front-end damage. The semi-truck’s driver, a 52-year-old man from Miami, was medically evaluated. He sustained minor injuries in the crash and did not require hospitalization.

No other injuries were reported.

CSX crews immediately began working to clean up the area, and the eastbound lane of County Road 318 was blocked until approximately 1:55 p.m.
