Willie Terry, Jr. “Bates” went home to be with the Father on June 13, 2022. He was born on November 7, 1963, to the late Willie and Ella M. Terry, Sr. in Ocala, Florida.
He was converted at an early age and joined Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
He attended the Marion County Public Schools and was a graduate of Vanguard High School, Class of 1981.
After graduating, Willie began driving trucks with his father full time and was a part owner of Willie Terry & Son Trucking. He drove for many years until his health failed. Willie lived his life to the fullest and never apologized for it.
Willie leaves behind one sister, Wilhelmina Terry Smith of Ocala; nieces, Jerwanda Smith of Ocala and Vanessa Franklin of Ocala; sister in law, Naomi Gardner of Apopka; nephews, Larone Gardner of Apopka, Leonard Gardner of Cairo, GA; Goddaughter, Belicia (Darron) Williams and her family, Konnor and Kehlan of Hampton, GA; favorite cousins, Gloria Monts Vance and Kay Fortune of Columbus, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and friends.
