Deadline approaching to submit bids for bus wrap advertising on SunTran buses

Local advertisers still have time to submit bids to the City of Ocala for bus wrap advertising that can be placed on SunTran buses.

The request for bids, which is currently posted through the City of Ocala’s Procurement and Contracting Office, will remain open through 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 30. The solicitation process is an auction, and the highest bidder at the time of the closing will be awarded a two-year advertising contract.

The minimum bid amount is $1,000 per month (per bus), and the bidder may request advertising for up to two buses.

The City of Ocala maintains a fleet of ten buses that operate seven routes within the City of Ocala and the Silver Springs Shores community. Since these buses will be rotated through all the available routes, the city is unable to guarantee advertisement being on a specific route.

According to the scope of work outlined in the request, the advertiser will be responsible for the design, production, and installation costs of the bus wrap in accordance with the city’s advertising policy. These separate expenses, which are not included in the monthly advertising cost, include the following:

  • Removal of SunTran graphics prior to the advertiser’s installation.
  • Removal of the advertiser’s wrap and replacement of the SunTran graphics at the conclusion of the contract.
  • Paint and body damage caused by the removal of the advertiser’s wrap (if applicable).

All wrap designs will be reviewed by city staff for compliance prior to being placed on the SunTran buses.
