MCSO team competes at 2022 Florida Sheriff’s Explorer Association conference

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 564 team competed in multiple events at the 2022 Florida Sheriff’s Explorer Association Summer Conference last week.

Explorer Posts from around the Sunshine State gathered at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to compete in events that tested their skills relating to actual law enforcement encounters. Participants also attended various trainings and other informational opportunities to better themselves.

According to MCSO, this year’s conference saw MCSO Explorer Post 564 form a competition team for the first time, and the participants performed well. The competitions were designed to test their ability to assess, respond, and utilize proper techniques when placed into multiple scenarios that are faced by law enforcement officials on a daily basis.

The MCSO Post 564 team consisted of Captain Emmanuel Roman, Lieutenant Nathaniel Hime, Corporal Chet Duncan, Corporal Alea Harrison, Explorer Rhiannon Phelps, and Explorer Que Wilson.
