DOH-Marion hosting another free school vaccination event

The Florida Department of Health in Marion County (DOH-Marion) is offering local parents another opportunity to obtain required non-COVID-19 vaccinations for their children.

On Saturday, July 16, from 9 a.m. to noon, DOH-Marion is hosting a drive-thru Tdap vaccination event at its main office, which is located at 1801 SE 32nd Avenue in Ocala.

The vaccines are free and no appointment is necessary.

The Tdap vaccine – a booster shot for tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis, also known as whooping cough – is required for all students entering 7th grade, whether in public or private schools.

Parents or guardians with questions about what vaccines their children have received may contact DOH-Marion’s Immunizations staff, or a copy of their shot records may be obtained by visiting the department’s main office.

For more information about the vaccination event or vaccination records, please contact the Florida Department of Health in Marion County via phone (352-629-0137) or email (dlchd42immunizations@FLHealth.gov).
