Local elected and appointed officials from throughout the Sunshine State elected Ocala City Councilmember Jim Hilty as Vice Chairman of the Florida Municipal Power Agency’s Policy Makers Liaisons Committee on Thursday.
According to FMPA, Robert Page of Green Cove Springs was also elected as the committee’s Chairman. Page and Hilty will lead the committee for 2022-2023 in its mission of fostering communication between public officials and FMPA, their wholesale electricity provider.
Hilty previously served on FMPA’s Policy Makers Liaisons Committee for four years until the end of his city council term in 2017. After winning the 2021 election for his district’s representation to city council, he rejoined the committee earlier this year.
Page previously served two terms as Vice Chairman and has been a member of the committee since 2013. He is also a former city council member and mayor of Green Cove Springs.
