The Marion County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is seeking more information from the community regarding a fatal shooting that occurred on Monday morning in Reddick.
On July 18, at around 10:15 a.m., MCSO received a call in reference to a deceased black male, identified as 23-year-old Gainesville resident Dequandre Alexander, who had been located along the roadway in the 15700 block of NW 41st Avenue in Reddick.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they located Alexander’s body. He was found to have sustained a gunshot wound. Major Crimes detectives responded and initiated a homicide investigation.
At this time, Major Crimes detectives are attempting to gather more information about the circumstances that led to Alexander’s death.
