Thomas Joseph Boylan

Thomas Joseph Boylan, 92, born August 29, 1929 in Queens, New York passed away July 6, 2022 in Ocala, Marion County, Florida.

Tom enlisted in the marines in 1946. After serving he married Eleanor Clifford on October 22, 1949. He then made his career in the New York City Police Department, motorcycle division. After retiring from the police department they moved to Florida in 1974. He was proud to serve as a Eucharistic Minister at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. His favorite hobby was painting while watching Bob Ross tapes. He also had the pleasure of meeting Bob Ross while taking classes.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Eleanor Boylan (Ellie Babe), granddaughter Alyssa DeGennaro and brother Patrick Boylan, Jr.

He is survived by daughters Ellen Bruzzone (Richard); Sharon DeGennaro; son Thomas Joseph Boylan, Jr.; sister Patricia Kearns; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 08:30 AM, Monday, July 18, 2022 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 6455 SW State Road 200, Ocala, Florida 34476 with Father Patrick J. O’Doherty officiating.

Tom will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, 12:30, Monday, July 18,2022. The Marion County Honor Guard will provide full military honors in recognition of Tom’s dedicated service to a Grateful Nation during the World War II era.
