Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday begins on July 25

As students get ready for the upcoming school year, a statewide sales tax holiday is set to begin which will offer tax breaks on essential items such as school supplies, clothing, learning aids, electronics, and more.

Florida’s 2022 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday begins on Monday, July 25, and it will run through Sunday, August 7.

During the tax holiday, most school supplies that cost $50 or less will be exempt from sales taxes. The tax holiday will also apply to certain clothing, footwear, and accessories that cost $100 or less.

Personal computers and certain computer-related accessories with a sales price of $1,500 or less will be eligible for the tax breaks when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use.

In addition, learning aids (flashcards, matching or other memory games, puzzle books, interactive toys teaching reading or math skills, stacking blocks, etc.), along with jigsaw puzzles, will also be exempt from sales taxes during the holiday.
