Ethel Gyger, 94, passed away on July 23, 2022 in Ocala, FL.

Ethel was born on July 7, 1928 to her parents Mortimar and Emily Barber in Fort Ethan Allen, VT. Ethel was a proud “Army Brat” as she liked to call herself. As a child Ethel was stationed with her family at many different locations. One of her favorites was Hawaii where she was a teenage girl on the beach the day Pearl Harbor was attacked. Her family was quickly deported from the Hawaiian island back to the upper 48. When her father retired from the Army, they moved to Ft. McCoy, Fl. Ethel graduated from Ft. McCoy School.

Ethel married her first husband Earl Redoudy and had her only child Patrice Fleming, who preceded her in death just 30 days prior. After the passing of Earl, she met her second husband, Jean Gyger. Together, they owned and operated the Jade Lounge and Sam’s Liquor and Package.

Ethel is preceded in death by her husbands Earl Redoudy and Jean Gyger and daughter Patrice Fleming. She is survived by her step daughter Leslie Paramore, Ocala, granddaughter Candace James, NV, grandson Carl Fleming Jr (Salina) Ocala, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
