Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday ends on August 7

As students get ready for the start of the new school year, a statewide sales tax holiday is offering tax breaks on essential items such as school supplies, clothing, learning aids, electronics, and more through Sunday, August 7.

Florida’s 2022 Back-to School Sales Tax Holiday began on July 25 and runs through this weekend. During the tax holiday, most school supplies that cost $50 or less are exempt from sales taxes. The tax holiday also applies to certain clothing, footwear, and accessories that cost $100 or less.

Personal computers and certain computer-related accessories with a sales price of $1,500 or less are eligible for the tax breaks when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use.

In addition, learning aids (flashcards, matching or other memory games, puzzle books, interactive toys teaching reading or math skills, stacking blocks, etc.), along with jigsaw puzzles, are also exempt from sales taxes during the holiday.
