The Marion County Parks and Recreation Department is looking for volunteers who would like to participate in this year’s Brick City Carnival.
The 4th installment of the annual event will take place on Saturday, October 8, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion located at 2232 NE Jacksonville Road in Ocala.
The carnival will feature costume contests, inflatables, food trucks, face painting, games, music, and plenty of candy. During last year’s event, approximately 5,000 people of all ages were in attendance.
The parks and recreation department is currently seeking volunteers to assist with hosting games, crafts, and their own candy station during the four-hour event. Young volunteers will have an opportunity to accumulate volunteer hours for planning, organizing, and implementing the carnival.
In addition, all participating volunteer groups will have the opportunity to inform attendees of the products and services that they offer.
