Emergency Management offers voluntary program to assist Marion County residents with special needs

In the event of an emergency situation, Marion County Emergency Management offers a voluntary program for individuals with special needs who have no other alternative for shelter or require transportation to a shelter.

The Marion County Special Needs Program is for local residents who, during periods of evacuation or emergency, require assistance with sheltering due to physical impairment, mental impairment, cognitive impairment, or sensory disabilities.

Marion County residents can click here to download the registration form to join the Special Needs Registry. Once completed, the form can be returned to Marion County Emergency Management via mail (P.O. Box 1987, Ocala, FL 34478) or fax (352-369-8101).

The registry is a confidential listing of residents needing assistance in the event of an emergency, and the list is updated on an annual basis through contact with the registered residents.
