A 58-year-old Fort McCoy woman was arrested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office after she was accused of showing an inmate videos of herself engaging in sexual activity with several dogs.
According to MCSO, a jail investigator was notified by detention staff that Carin Theresa Buford had shown the explicit videos involving dogs to an inmate on July 18 and July 19 during video visitations.
After conducting an investigation, the jail investigator located the video visitation recordings and confirmed that Buford was showing videos of her engaging in sexual acts with dogs. Electronic messages were also located between Buford and an inmate that graphically described various sexual acts with dogs.
MCSO Major Crimes detectives obtained a search warrant for Buford’s home. During the search, detectives located the smartphone that she had used during the video visitations. A phone extraction was conducted, and the detectives found 11 videos that showed Buford and at least two dogs engaging in oral sexual activities.
In addition, the detectives located a deleted file that contained child pornography on Buford’s smartphone.
Buford spoke with detectives and admitted that she had made the videos with the dogs. When asked about the file containing child pornography, Buford claimed that she was unaware that the individual in the deleted file was underage.
Buford was arrested, transported to Marion County Jail, and she was later released on $13,000 bond. She is facing 11 misdemeanor charges for engaging in sexual conduct with an animal, along with a felony charge for possession of child pornography.
An initial court date has been scheduled on Wednesday, August 17 at 1 p.m., and a second court date has been scheduled on Tuesday, September 6 at 9 a.m., according to jail records.
