City of Belleview announces upcoming changes to Cherokee Park

During the next few months, Belleview residents can expect to see the demolition of the old community center at Cherokee Park to make way for several changes to the park.

According to the City of Belleview, the building’s removal will provide the necessary space for these “new and exciting” changes. The city’s Public Works Department recently worked with consultants to create a preliminary concept plan for the park, which is shown below.

The new park will include parking, restrooms, a new 10,000 square-foot playground, several pavilions, and a fruit and nut orchard with a pollinator garden.

In a social media post, the City of Belleview stated, “While there is still much to be done before we can make it a reality, we hope you are as excited as we are to see this park change in the coming years.”

Cherokee Park is located on SE 113th Place in Belleview.
