Forest Community Center to host popular Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament in November

The highly popular Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament is returning to the Forest Community Center in November.

The Marion County Parks and Recreation Department will host the video game tournament on Saturday, November 12, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Forest Community Center located at 777 S County Road 314A in Ocklawaha.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a fighting video game that was released on the Nintendo Switch console in 2018, and it features nearly 90 playable characters to choose from.

During the tournament, participants will be randomly seated, and they will compete in a one day, best-of-three tournament for bragging rights and a prize.

Competitors are welcome to bring their own controller, though turbo/macro options on controllers are not permitted. A controller will be provided to any participant who needs one.

The tournament is open to anyone over the age of 10. There is a $5 registration fee for those who bring their own Nintendo Switch with the game, and a $10 fee for all others who wish to compete in the tournament.

According to the Marion County Parks and Recreation Department, registration for the upcoming tournament will soon be open on the Ocala/Marion County program search webpage.
